Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 1 timothy 6:17

Check yourself periodically to make sure you haven’t become proud of your accomplishments and your possessions. After all, you had so very little to do with acquiring them. The life, talents, mind, and body you have — these are all gifts from God. Sure, you may have worked hard to earn things, but God made it all possible. Without His enablement you would have nothing. But the last part of this scripture is the best part. There are uncertain riches and certain riches. As one of God’s children your riches are certain! Your needs will be met and, beyond that, God desires for you to receive all things richly to enjoy. How many employers offer that?
• I claim the wealthy place that God created for me before the foundation of the earth.
• By faith I accept and expect everything God has promised me.
• God gives me all things richly to enjoy for I am His royal child.
Do to others as you would like them to do to you. Luke 6:31 (NLT)

First and foremost, you work for God. This scripture is His most basic instruction for doing your work. It tells you to be nice to others and to treat them respectfully, but there’s more
here that can directly benefit you as you look for a job. What would you really like for others to do for you right now while you’re unemployed — share leads, tell you about open positions, offer encouragement? Well, if that’s the harvest you want, plant those seeds when you interact with others. Find ways to bless those who are also looking for jobs. “Give and it will be given to you” is an infallible Kingdom law. Follow these golden rules and watch how your job search is blessed by sudden sources of support and divine coincidences.
• I actively seek ways to bless others in their job searches. I know I’ll receive a harvest of blessing in return.
• I represent the Kingdom of God and I am blessed to be a blessing.
• By faith I follow the Holy Spirit who shows me what God would have me do for others.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. (NLT)

2 Timothy 1:7

While the rest of the world is reeling in panic and suffering an epidemic of fear, God’s
people have been given the great “benefit package” of power, love and self-discipline.
This scripture tells us that any fear or timidity we experience does not come from within
us. It’s an enemy attack and we don’t have to buy into it. But to fully receive your benefits,
you have to walk in love, discipline your mind and body, and exercise the power you’ve
been given. Now that you know you can live without fear, this makes walking in love all the
more important, doesn’t it?
• I am powerful, loving and self disciplined by the grace of God.
• Fear has no hold on me for it is not my nature. I am bold in the Lord.
• By faith I receive the wisdom to recognize an enemy attack and to stand
in love against it.

Do not tremble; do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim my purposes for you long ago? You are my witnesses—is there any other God? No! There is no other Rock—not one!” (NLT) Isaiah 44:8

There is no other God and no other Rock to stand on. As you read His Word you have to be awestruck at the good He has in mind for His children. He reaches out to rescue us, lead us,
love us and bless us. He tells us not to be afraid because He has us in His hand. We are a significant part of His almighty purposes. He has plans for each of us to be His witnesses and to bring Him glory. He has to preserve you and care for you because you represent Him! So keep that in mind if you start to become concerned about your situation. God’s reputation rests upon you. He will not allow you to fail but you have to listen to His instructions and follow the path He has set out for you if you want to be in a position to receive His blessings.
• I will not fear because I belong to the one true God and He never fails.
• By faith I believe that I am part of God’s plan and Kingdom purposes,
and He will lead me in the way I am to go.
• I stand on a solid Rock. I will not be moved by evil reports.
No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, (NLT) Philippians 3:13

Here is an essential piece of advice for job seekers — forget the past! Wherever you focus your thoughts is where you will stay anchored. Don’t become stuck in the past. Whether your past was great and you miss it or it was horrible and it haunts you, it’s over. You cannot go back to it, so let it go. Anchor your thoughts to the Word of God and the wonderful promises you’ll find there. Let them pull you into the future God has for you… an abundant life filled with every good thing.
• The past has no hold on me. I am free.
• I joyfully look forward to my future and expect great good.
• I know Who holds my future. My confidence is in Christ alone.
It doesn’t matter whether we have been circumcised or not. What counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation. (NLT)

Galatians 6:15

God is not focused on your past, your heritage, or your behaviors. What matters to God is whether you will allow Him to turn you into a new creation in Christ. If you allow God to have His way, you’ll realize that you’ve been adopted by God and are now royalty. You’ll feel securely grafted into the Vine of life with God’s very spirit ever-present inside you Can you see how this
truth would change  your everyday life? How would you act in an interview with a prospective employer if you fully understood the work God has done in you? Let God renew your mind with his Word and allow His truth to transform you into the new creation He has in mind.
• By faith I accept that God has made me a new creation—perfect and blameless in His sight.
• I know that God does not judge me by my past behaviors. He sees me through the blood of Christ.
• Because I have been transformed, my behaviors are changing to line up with the Word.

Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. (NLT)

When many believers start their job search, they have an image that God is distant and they need to chase Him down to try and get His attention on their situation. Imagine the relief when they discover that God has actually been pursuing them! God is also pursuing you. He loves you, values you and wants a relationship with you. This makes your task easier. All you have to do is seek the Kingdom and make time in your life to get to know the King. Don’t take the first step to find a job today without spending time with your Father in Heaven. Nothing will be more important for the success of your job search than assuring that you have placed your full confidence in God before you head out the door. He loves you. He has the answers you seek and the provision you need. He’s ready to care for you if you’ll invite Him into your situation!
• My mind is made up. I belong to God alone.
• I am forgiven and cleansed.
• By faith I receive you, Lord. You are my King and I choose to follow you.

Power for Weakness

He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.

Read Isaiah 40:29, NLT

You don’t have to be unemployed for long before you discover how powerless you really are. You can’t make people call you back; you can’t make positions open; you can’t even figure out where to look for your next job. You’re not in control of anything. But the truth is, you have never been in control and you never will be. It takes a while for to understand that there is no security in the world’s economy and those who place their trust in it are sure to be disappointed. So much for harsh reality about the systems of this world. Be grateful that you are no longer fooled into the false security offered by the Enemy. In the Kingdom of God, where you can choose to abide, everything is secure so surrender the reins of your life and future completely to God. Take Him up on His offer of power and strength. You will never get a better offer than that in the workplace.
WORDS OF FAITH:I am connected to the Power source for the whole universe and He makes me strong.

By faith I receive God’s power to carry me where I am weak. I am complete in Christ, lacking nothing.

I receive God’s strength and power in every aspect of my life.

Things to Enjoy

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.

Read 1 Timothy 6:17, NIV

You might not find it encouraging when you hear that the systems of this world are failing.  News of the crumbling economy and dismal employment statistics might even be keeping you up at night.  But, as a precious child of God and citizen in His economy, you don’t have to feel that way.  You don’t even have to give the world’s situation a second thought, because it has no hold on you. Read this scripture again and ask the Holy Spirit to give you a full revelation of its meaning.  The uncertain riches of this world cannot bring you peace of mind or confidence for the future. Nothing in this world can do that. But by the grace of the living God you have something that is truly trustworthy and so much better.  He stands in eternity, with His eye on your future and provides everything you will ever need for a great life. Rest in that.

• My God is the Ruler over all and He loves to give me wonderful gifts.

• By faith I receive all the things that God gives me to enjoy.  I expect to live abundantly.

• My confidence is in God as my provider.  I don’t place any trust in the systems of this world.

Say Baaah

“So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness

to give you the Kingdom.

Read Luke 12:32, NLT

Many scriptures refer to believers as “sheep.”  There’s nothing too appealing about these smelly, stupid animals but that’s not the point of the comparison. This metaphor is a very effective way to show the relationship between God and those who believe in Him.  There’s no more powerful or enduring an image than a loving shepherd keeping watch over his well-cared-for flock.  Furthermore, it might serve us “sheep” well to know a few things. One: we’re in a war zone with an enemy we can’t see but He can.  Two: we don’t have a good understanding of the situation but He does.  Three: compared to the supernatural power made available to us by Christ, our worldly skills and abilities are as inferior as those of a common sheep compared to the skilled and vigilant shepherd.  So, accept that being a sheep is fine, just as long as you can stay very close to the Shepherd!  Don’t forget that for even one moment of your job search.

• I believe that it gives God happiness to bless me with every good thing.

• I refuse to receive a spirit of fear.  I recognize fear as a strategy of the enemy and I rebuke it.

• By faith I receive the blessing Jesus bought for me at Calvary.
