Trust Him

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Read Proverbs 3:5-6, NLT

Obviously there is a difference between understanding what God is doing and simply trusting Him.  Our instruction is to trust Him whether we understand or not. There will be times when you will have to choose between what makes “sense” to you and what His Spirit tells you to do. That’s really a challenge in the job search process.  The way of the world is to look for any available job and try to talk your way into it, to take any job offered until you can find a better one.  Does any of that sound like the Lord’s way?  Or does it sound fear based and desperate?  You must decide whose directions you will follow and the two roads will likely appear very different.  When you choose the direction of the Holy Spirit, you will be shown the path that leads out of the jobless wilderness. His less traveled path is the way to go.

• I am not unemployed; I work for the Lord.

• By faith I take actions in line with God’s Word and the leading of the Spirit.

• I will not move in fear or desperation. The Lord orders my steps.
