Pray About Everything

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.

Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

Read Philippians 4:6, NLT

Job seekers are generally very good at telling God what they need but not so good at speaking to Him about everything, including blessings and moments of joy.  Praying about all the good things that happen in the day may be a new idea to consider.  Most of us tend to take good things for granted, even let them go by unnoticed.  But we’re quick to cry “Foul” if something happens that we don’t like.  So here’s an experiment to try – spend one whole day thanking God for every good thing big and small.  Believe His Word that says He knows about our needs before we ask so don’t even mention them.  Reverse the habit of a quick thank-you and a long laundry list of needs, petitions and disappointments and spend all your time thanking God for all he has already done.  Your job search activities will seem easier, your day lighter and brighter and you may even realize how wonderful your life is, despite the challenges.

• I am thankful for the gift of eternal life and freedom from sin.

• By faith I believe that all my needs are met and provisions come to me now.

• I thank God for Jesus, the most precious gift of love that the world has ever received.
