Love is patient and kind….not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable…never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Your next job will probably come with a job description. God’s assignment comes with a job description too. His expectation is that we perform according to His standards, no matter what work we find ourselves performing. Jesus told us that our job is to love as He loved. The little-known part about His requirement is that we are the ones most blessed when we do it well! As we commit ourselves to love and to become like Christ, we magnify God’s blessing in our lives. We drive fear far from us and attract every good thing God intends for us. We increase the power and authority we’ve been given in Jesus, free the Holy Spirit to act in and through us, and live in peace and joy. So remember your job description: “Your assignment is to love, and then experience the overwhelming abundant life that flows out of God’s love just for you.”

I love because God first loved me. I am filled with His love.

By faith I receive the power to love as Christ loved.

I know that His perfect love for me casts out every fear.
