And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will guide you with knowledge and understanding Jeremiah 3:16

It’s important to connect with the body of Christ and to take advantage of a shepherd’s covering. Find those who are looking out for you, who will teach you the way of Truth. If you haven’t found a local church, add that quest to your job search process. In addition to a local church, get connected with excellent teachers and pastors on television and the radio. Fill yourself with God’s Word from all these anointed shepherds and dwell in safety. They will accelerate your understanding and knowledge and light the path before you.

WORDS OF LIFE:
• I am open to the gift of shepherds in my life. I know that I am a sheep in need of protection.
• By faith I receive direction from God’s appointed shepherds. I examine what I am taught against the Word and grow in truth.
• I trust the Holy Spirit in me to guard me from false shepherds who would do me harm.

I know, LORD, that our lives are not our own. We are not able to plan our own course. (NLT) Jeremiah 10:23

There’s a popular bumper sticker that says “God is my co-pilot”. If that’s true for you, be quick – trade seats! God needs to be the One in charge, the Holy Spirit in you should be calling all the shots. You are not able to plan your own course, because you can’t see around corners and into the future. But He who sees the end from the beginning is more than able to lead you. Let’s not miss the first statement here, either. Your life no longer belongs to you. Jesus bought you and you are His. So allow Him His proper place in your life and enjoy the ride.

WORDS OF LIFE:
• I thank God that it is not up to me to plan my own course. Perfect Love leads me.
• By faith I acknowledge that God is good and only good and I trust in Him completely.
• I belong to Jesus and will follow where He leads me.

For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows

1 Timothy 6:10

As your thoughts turn to self-awareness, it’s a good idea to examine your motives… are they set on anything other than God’s priorities? Are you thinking you’ll be glad when you’re back to work because you won’t need God so much? Are you like many of us who only seek God diligently when we’re in a crisis? Would a nice job with a fat paycheck mean you wouldn’t have to spend so much time praying and seeking God? Be honest. Who really occupies the throne in your heart? If it’s someone or something other than God and His will, repent and ask God to keep you in the center of His will from this moment on. It’s not enough to put God in the center of your life.  You need to fit your entire life into Christ.
WORDS OF LIFE:
• I turn my entire life over to God again and ask Him to be my only King.
• By faith I receive God’s priorities and will for my life, and I trust Him to lead me in the way I should go.
• I will to will the will of God.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (NLT)

James 1:17

Perhaps you’ve heard the saying, “Your life is a gift from God. What you do with it is your gift to God!” It’s the truth. Take some time to reflect on everything God has already given you. Do you have the gift of sight, speech, hearing and touch? Have you experienced laughter and joy and peace and comfort? Do you have people to love who love you back? All these wonderful gifts came from a Father who loves you perfectly. So now it’s your turn. What can you give to Him? Only one thing — your life in obedience to His will. With your complete surrender you become open to His greatest blessing and a life filled with wonders. You simply cannot out-give God… but it’s worth a try!

WORDS OF LIFE:
• I thank God for all He has done for me and I offer Him my life.
• By faith I receive the full blessing of God that I might bless others.
• I ask the Holy Spirit to keep me ever mindful of all that God has given me.

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Genesis 1:26

The moon is the same whether we see it as a tiny crescent or as the entire sphere.
You also know that the moon does not make its own light — it is merely reflecting light from another source. That’s how it is with you as well. Kingdom leaders are both born and made. You are the very image and likeness of God, designed to be a ruler on this earth whether you look like it right now or not. You’re a “born leader” the from the minute when the Spirit of God came to live inside you but you will not be made a leader until you release God’s light and power in your life. His intention is for you to have dominion, so it’s time  to take authority over the workplace and bring it under Kingdom rule.
WORDS OF LIFE:
• I am designed in the image and likeness of God.
• By faith I receive revelation of the power and authority I have been given by God in Christ.
• I take dominion over the workplace and bring the Kingdom way of life with me as I enter it.
To acquire wisdom is to love oneself; people who cherish understanding will prosper. (NLT)Proverbs 19:8

So much of what people call understanding and wisdom really misses the mark by a mile. No wonder smart, supposedly wise people can have lives that are such a mess. They don’t know what true wisdom really is.  The wisdom spoken of in this verse is the Word of God and His commandments. Cherish His word and prosper — that’s the promise. That means if you’re not walking in love, you’ll miss out on wisdom. Only wisdom and the Word of God will allow you to prosper in every aspect of your life. His Word provides perfect wisdom for every situation in your life today. So learn to ask for first things first, and start your prayer with a request for true wisdom and understanding.
WORDS OF LIFE:
• God loves me and has declared me His child.
• I seek wisdom because it is the best gift I can ask for myself.
• By faith I receive understanding directly from the throne room of God and I prosper as a result.

And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him. (NLT) John 3:22

Let’s search for a way of asking that will produce results. As believers that’s our goal.
We all agree that we want to send forth requests, and, of course, receive an immediate
and positive response. It’s the second part of this verse that poses a problem for many of
us. It would appear that we receive what we ask for from God “because we obey Him and
we do the things that please Him.” That’s what we must get everything right if we want our
prayers answered. We are under a new covenant that doesn’t require strict adherence to
a rule book, but it does require obedience. We are commanded to love. We are required
to forgive. We are directed to seek God in His Word. If you want to see the results of your
prayers, you have to do what God tells you to do.
WORDS OF LIFE:
• I know that God desires to answer my prayers and grant my requests when they align with the character of Christ..
• By faith I receive the ability to obey God’s Word and activate His promises.
• I obey God and expect to receive what I ask from Him because I always ask in love.

Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. (NLT) Ephesians 6:11-12

Did it ever occur to you that your life and livelihood would depend on being spiritually “suited up” for battle every day of your life? But now you know, becauseyou’ve probably experienced what happens when you go out without God’s armor to protect you, and have the scars to prove it. Your effectiveness and success will require every piece of this spiritual armor — God’s truth to fill you, His salvation to deliver you, Christ’s righteousness to empower you, your faith to guard you, and His Word and Spirit to mount your defense. Once you recognize that the battle is real and the stakes are high, you’ll begin to understand the need for this armor and the great value it holds. Thank God He has it all laid out for you — and in your size, too!
WORDS OF LIFE:
• I have all that I need to win every battle against the enemy.
• By faith I receive the empowerment to use all of God’s weapons.
• I stand firm against the enemy because I have been well trained and perfectly equipped.
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.  (NLT) Colossians 3:23-2

Reflecting on this scripture, how many of us could claim that we “work willingly at whatever
we do?” Particularly in times of unemployment, it’s easy to think that if there’s no employer
paying for your work then what you do doesn’t matter. That’s not how God sees it. He wants
you to conduct your job search and daily work as if it is a Kingdom assignment, because it is. You need to
look at how you’re spending your time and the fruit you’re producing right now. Are personal
and volunteer projects getting completed with excellence? Are your relationships being
nurtured? Are you taking care of your body to become stronger for the Lord’s work? Are
you doing all of these activities willingly? You are called to make this entire experience a
sacrifice of praise and a gift to God.
WORDS OF LIFE:
• I am right where I need to be and I am giving God my very best.
• I receive my five-fold, unemployment blessing that God has for me.
• I work for God alone and I bring a Kingdom blessing wherever I am.

[The [a]Servant of God says] The Lord God has given Me the tongue of a disciple and of one who is taught, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He wakens Me morning by morning, He wakens My ear to hear as a disciple [as one who is taught]. The Lord God has opened My ear, and I have not been rebellious or turned backward. Isaiah 50 :4-5

Imagine… the Lord of all creation wants to talk to you every morning. He “opens our ears”
so that you are sure to hear His voice. Your part is to decide if you will do what you’re told
once you hear it. You are not to wait and decide if you like the instructions. If you listen and
learn, you will have “the tongue of a disciple”, and  will sound just like Jesus. You’ll
be able to say exactly the right thing to lift up someone who is weary. Considering the
power and authority Jesus commanded with His words, that’s an awesome outcome to
your training! During this time of unemployment Jesus might just be saying to you, as He did
His other disciples, “Follow me.”
WORDS OF LIFE:
• I choose to be a believer and a disciple. I want to be like Jesus.
• I receive the instruction of the Lord and the ears to recognize His voice.
• I too will use my voice to speak encouraging words of blessing to all who
are weary.
